The Playoffs for many teams are already here. The 7-8-9 spots are all tied in the west and the battle to make it into the East is getting tighter. With all these teams battling to make it to the playoffs we now take a look at teams that are legitimate contenders and teams that are about as real as a conclusion ever being found on "Lost."

The Spurs. Contenders The champs are in playoff form right now.
The Rockets. Pretenders 22 wins in a row and might miss the Playoffs?
The Jazz. Contenders If everyone stays healthy (AK looking at you)
The Hornets. Pretenders I still feel they are a year away from serious contention.
The Mavericks. Pretenders The worst trade this season.

The Jazz are not contenders. They are a joke so is as the Cavs are not contenders they will lose in the second round.
Yeah i don't think the Cavs are as strong as they were last year, but the East really is so bad that who knows? I think the Jazz could make it to the second round depending on who they play, they are really solid right now. Even though I can't stand them.
The Sixers are the best come back team this year. They beat boston and had to comeback by 19 to do it.
There are only two contenders: the Spurs and the Celtics. The Spurs are the only team in the West that are built to endure the playoffs.
The only question is, will they have enough left in the tank for the Finals vs. the Celtics? The Celtics have a great shot at winning it all because the Spurs will be beat up after winning the first three rounds.
